Thanksgiving is about giving thanks.
It is a US holiday that “officially” started when a bunch of pilgrims starved to death, and the following summers, Indians helped them grow an abundance of food, so they held a 3 day celebration.
At least that is the “official story” we are taught in school.
There are many historians who believe that is not actually what happened.
That the first colonies were socialistic and everyone contributed how much they contributed, and then the stores where shared equally among everyone. Because of this, many people didn’t do anything, and many people starved.
Then finally the governments changed to capitalistic. So those who worked more got rewarded more, and suddenly, the starvation ended.
So what did I do?
I went to Gunnison CO and spend two days in a hot spring. It was so nice. I love warm water. I don’t know why I keep moving into places that don’t have a hot tub. |
